FREE MAN
By; Peter Oluwatomiwa Timothy
( If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
- John 8:36)
In a quiet suburb, a young couple, Man and Woman, lived a peaceful life. One evening, as they returned home from a Bible study group, they were confronted by a masked robber. The robber demanded their valuables, and Man, trying to protect Woman, handed over their wallets and phones.
As the robber turned to leave, Woman, remembering a verse from their study, whispered, “The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing” (Psalm 23:1). She squeezed Man hand, and they stood frozen, praying silently.
The robber, sensing their calm, hesitated. He looked at them, and for a moment, their eyes met. Man spoke softly, “Do not repay evil with evil, but with blessing” (1 Peter 3:9). The robber’s expression changed, and he dropped the stolen items.
He turned to leave, but Woman, feeling a surge of compassion, called out, “Wait! Take this too” – a small Bible she had in her bag. “It’s been my comfort in hard times. May it bring you peace.”
The robber took the Bible, and for a moment, they stood there, connected by an unseen force. He vanished into the night, leaving Man and Woman shaken but grateful.
As they hugged, they whispered together, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart” (Proverbs 3:5). Their ordeal became a testament to faith and kindness, reminding them that even in fear, love and trust in God can transform hearts 🙏.
The couple decided to visit the local prison the next day, hoping to find the robber. They brought food, clothes, and Bibles, praying they’d meet him.
As they walked through the prison yard, they saw him – hunched, alone, and lost. When he recognized them, he looked away, ashamed. But Woman approached gently, “We forgave you. We brought some things.”
The robber man broke down, tears streaming. “Why? Why did you forgive me?” Man replied, “Because God forgives us, and we wanted to show His love.”
The Robber man accepted the gifts and, more importantly, their faith. He began reading the Bible, finding solace in its pages. Eventually, he surrendered his life to Christ.
Months later, the former robber stood outside the prison gates, reborn. Man and Woman welcomed him into their church, where he shared his testimony: “I thought my life was over, but God gave me a second chance.”
The congregation erupted in praise, remembering, “If the Son sets you free, you are free indeed” (John 8:36). The man’s life became a beacon, proving that redemption is possible through faith 💕.
The former robber, now a changed man named Free Man, began attending Bible study and sharing his testimony. His story inspired many, and he became a volunteer at the local prison ministry.
One day, Free Man asked Man and Woman if he could join them in their community outreach program. They welcomed him with open arms, and together, they served the less fortunate.
As Free Man continued to grow in his faith, he shared a verse that resonated with him: “He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom to the captives, and release from darkness for the prisoners” (Isaiah 61:1).
Man and Woman smiled, knowing that Free Man was living proof of God’s redemption. They prayed together, “Lord, may we continue to be instruments of Your love and light in this world.”
