FORGIVENESS
By; Peter Oluwatomiwa Timothy
- Sarah’s heart ached as she recalled the hurt her friend, Rachel, had caused. Rachel had betrayed her trust, sharing a secret that left Sarah feeling vulnerable and hurt. But as she prayed, Sarah felt a nudge to forgive. She remembered Jesus’ words: “Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors” (Matthew 6:12).
- With a heavy heart, Sarah chose to forgive Rachel, letting go of the pain. She reached out, and they reconciled. Sarah’s heart was lighter, and their friendship grew stronger.
Bible Study:
- “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you” (Ephesians 4:32)
- “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins” (1 John 1:9)
- “Love covers over a multitude of sins” (1 Peter 4:8)
- Mark had been holding onto anger towards his estranged father for years. But when his father reached out, apologizing for past hurts, Mark felt a glimpse of hope. He remembered Jesus’ words: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
Mark chose to forgive and reconcile with his father. Their relationship was restored, and Mark’s heart was freed from bitterness.
Bible Verse:
“Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you” (Ephesians 4:31-32 KJV).
Prayer π:
π Lord, help me forgive as You’ve forgiven me. Release me from bitterness and hurt. Give me Your heart to love and forgive those who’ve wronged me. Amen π
πLord, I struggle with forgiveness, but You’ve shown me grace. Help me let go of hurt and anger. Fill me with Your love and compassion. Give me strength to forgive as You’ve forgiven me. Heal my heart and restore relationships. Amen π
